Creating our Place: Young People in Plymouth

Creating our Place: Young People in Plymouth is part of the ESRC National Festival of Social Science, which works to show how research can help and be of interest to people outside universities. This is the first time Plymouth has won an award to be involved in this festival.

The aim of the day is to bring together young people, practitioners working with young people in different contexts and academics to explore together how young people would like to see a future Plymouth that meets their needs and allows them to be creative and fulfilled. The day will be very informal and enjoyable. It will give participants the opportunity to share their ideas with others that they wouldn't normally meet; influence future research and improve changes to services for young people in Plymouth and in particular have their views represented in the Plymouth Plan.

A film will be made of the day and a report will be written. Recommendations from the day will be taken to Planning, Children and Youth Services and the University Centre for Culture Community and Society. It is planned that the day will be a springboard for future events, research and bidding.

If you would like to book a place at this event, please email ihcseminars@plymouth.ac.uk.
